FM2000 Sample Specification
Concrete Masonry Units To Be Supplied To This Project Shall Be Manufactured By A Plant Certified By The New York State Concrete Masonry Association’s FM2000 Assurance of Quality Program.
As part of the normal project submittal process the FM2000 Producers will:
· Submit a certificate from The New York State Concrete Masonry Association that the
producer is a current participant In the FM2000 Program. Block will be in compliance with the New York State Concrete Masonry Association’s Random Sampling and Test Provisions of the FM2000 Assurance of Quality Program.
Submit ASTM C140 Tests from the National Concrete Masonry Association demonstrating compliance To ASTM C 90 “Standard Specification for Load Bearing Concrete Masonry Units”, except that the net area unit compressive strength will be 2800 PSI at 28 days.
· With A Minimum 28 Day Net Area Compressive Strength of 2800 Psi
· Submit A Cover Letter From The National Concrete
Masonry Association Which Identifies
The Compressive Strength Of Masonry (ƒ’m ) For The Block Tested- Based On Section
1.4.B.2.b Of “Specifications For Masonry Structures”(Referenced By The “Building Code
Of New York State”) ƒ’m Values Will Be Identified For Block Used With Type M Or S
Mortar And Type N Mortar.
· Submit National Concrete Masonry Association
Tests For ASTM C1314 –Standard Test
Method For Compressive Strength Of Masonry Prisms Showing The 28 Day Prism Test
Values Of The 2800 Net Area Compressive Strength Units.
National Concrete Masonry Association Tests For ASTM C426 – Standard Test
Method For Linear Drying Shrinkage Of Concrete Masonry Units. Demonstrating
Compliance to ASTM C 90 “Standard Specification For Load Bearing Concrete Masonry
· Submit A Certificate Of Compliance From The
FM2000 Producer That All Block Supplied
To This Project Will Be From The Same “Lot” As The Block Used In The Tests Submitted.
ASTM Defines “Lot” “As Any Number Of Concrete Masonry Units Of Any Configuration
Or Dimension Manufactured By The Producer Using The Same Materials, Concrete Mix
Design, Manufacturing Process, And Curing Method.”
· All cubes of block delivered to this project will be marked with the New York State Concrete
Masonry Association FM2000 Assurance of Quality label.
